The 209-room resort hotel located in the Legoland Windsor amusement park reopened its doors on May 17th, 2021, to the delight of guests ready to enjoy their stay at the park! Opened on March 17th, 1996, the theme park celebrating its 25th anniversary this year offers more than 55 rides, attractions, and live shows for everyone. In 2012, they opened their first establishment Legoland Hotel, located at the back of the park. Six years later, the second hotel Castle Hotel opens, designed with two different themes of rooms, Wizard, and Knights.
Customers can enjoy unique rooms in the world of Lego through themes such as pirate rooms, kingdom rooms, or adventure rooms, experiencing a real treasure hunt in each room and enjoy unforgettable moments with their family!
Merlin Entertainments, operating the theme park, and the two Legoland hotels at Windsor Castle, decided to optimize the guest arrival experience by supplementing manual check-in at the reception with online check-in and self-service kiosks to facilitate arrivals and departures.
Ariane has delivered a solution that is completely customized to reflect the theme of the Legoland park and the two hotels. This includes an online check-in letting guests pick up a key in less than a minute after receiving a notification that their room is ready by simply scanning a QR code. Hotel guests can also opt to do the entire check-in using one of the kiosks in the lobby.
Since the hotel reopening, an awesome 8 out of 10 Legoland hotel guests have received their room keys from one of the self-service kiosks. The solution is integrated with Oracle Opera PMS, connected to Adyen payment using OPI, and Assa Abloy door lock system.
The advanced integrations enable automatic guest processing with no need for manual staff intervention. With the “pay as you go” system deployed throughout the park and the hotels, Ariane's self-service solutions are a perfect compliment to enable contactless and efficient solutions suited for Merlin Entertainment requirements.
