Self Check-In Kiosks at Campanile Roissy: A Customer Story

Self Check-In Kiosks at Campanile Roissy: A Customer Story

Near Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, the Campanile & Première Classe Roissy, Le Mesnil-Amelot hotels now welcome their guests with Ariane self check-in kiosks. For their director, the greatest success of the project is simple: the smiles. With the kiosk taking care of check-in, the team has more time for each guest.

Two ways to arrive, one warm welcome

Hotel guest checking in on a DUO 2100 self check-in kiosk

Guests who like to be independent check in quickly at the kiosk. Guests who prefer some help get a personal welcome from the team, right beside them. Everyone arrives at their own pace.

For the team, it's a new way of welcoming guests: working right alongside them. Conversations start easily, there's laughter around the kiosk, and staff take the time to help everyone.

Next to a major airport, some guests want their key as quickly as possible, while others want a friendly face and a few words of advice. Now both get what they need.

As the director puts it, the shared priority is for every guest to feel expected, listened to and welcomed with genuine care.

The hotels chose the DUO 2100, Ariane's compact countertop kiosk. It's designed to let guests:

  • find their booking on a 15-inch touchscreen
  • check in with a QR code if they started online
  • pay securely by card, with chip or contactless
  • collect a key card encoded on the spot

Options such as an ID and passport scanner or a receipt printer can be added if a hotel needs them.

Because it sits on the counter, the kiosk doesn't take over the lobby. Staff can stand right next to it and step in whenever a guest wants help.

According to the director, guests are often pleasantly surprised by this new way of being welcomed. The team took on the project with enthusiasm and quickly felt at ease with the new tool.

Anyone using the kiosk for the first time has someone right there to guide them. What the team brings every day is the human touch: smiles, kindness and humour that turn a simple check-in into a real moment of connection.

It's the same idea behind our theme park success story: self-service works best when it gives the team more time for guests.

In the director's own words

When the director shared the project on LinkedIn, the post wasn't about the kiosks. It was about the team.

"While a kiosk may hand over a key, it is always the people, the men and women, who create the memory of an unforgettable welcome."
"As the manager, I couldn't be prouder to see our staff bring this project to life every day."

Deborah Fargues, Director, Campanile & Première Classe Roissy, Le Mesnil-Amelot

For the director, the best kind of innovation is the kind that gives the team even more time for guests, so that every stay starts with a good memory from the very first minutes.

Do self-check-in kiosks replace hotel staff?

No. At Campanile & Première Classe Roissy, the kiosk handles the routine steps of check-in so the team can spend more time with guests. Guests who want speed check in on their own, and guests who want help are welcomed in person, right beside the kiosk.

Thank you to Deborah Fargues (Director), Hélène Regnault (Deputy Director) and the Campanile & Première Classe Roissy team for trusting us with their welcome, and to Ronald Journo (Sales), Pierre Lecomte (Deployment) and Morgane Kimaz (Customer Success) at Ariane for making it happen.
